Drug Testing

Free and confidential drug checking is available across the Fraser Health region. Substances are identified and analyzed to reduce risk of harm from substance use. FTIR spectrometer and immunoassay test strips are used to identify whether a substance contains potent material like fentanyl.

Testing can be completed through mail, or drop-off the substance at a drug-testing site. They are relatively quick (approximately 15 minutes).

Fentanyl Test Strips

Test strips are used to detect fentanyl and some fentanyl analogues in substances. There are many sites that offer take-home fentanyl test stripes for individual. Overdose prevention sites, supervised consumptions sites, and RAAC clinics provide this as well. Click here to learn more.
